I was just listening to the radio while I sit at my office desk, undergoing my daily routine and then a news segment started playing.

You know something is wrong with society when the most important news story is regarding Britney Spears getting a parking ticket when shopping in LA.

It is just me that thinks that this paints a grim picture of today’s society? Or am I overreacting?

I strongly believe that we should be hearing news about the environment and our constant impact on it. For example: The deforestation that is occurring globally, the over fishing in the Earths oceans, the change in climate, the increase in carbon, the acidification of the oceans and all the other things that we seem to contribute towards. If these environmental stories actually made it into the news then I believe that they should be reported on every week.

Society has really taken a turn for the worse. All you seem to hear in the media these days are stories regarding what this particular celebrity is doing or has done.

This lack of information is causing/molding people into ignorant uninformed and mindless idiots. People need to get educated as to our exact impacts on this planet, the more people that are actually made aware, the better our future may be.

Our current path is leading to destruction. We will ultimately destroy ourselves as a result of our blissful ignorance.
